Mahakavi Bharatiyar

Subramaniya Bharathi was fondly referred to as Bharathiyar by the masses and as the pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, was given the title of “Mahakavi” which means the Great Poet. The fierce poet is best known for his excellent literary works in the field of emancipation of women, standing against child marriage and reforming the society at large. Bharathiyar Kavidhaigal is an emotion that stirs every heart which include children’s songs, songs of nature, love and the glory of Tamil language. ‘Tamizh’- A sound as sweet as honey through his writing makes it them a wonderful addition to a musician’s repertoire.
